About

Systems of representation and how they are consumed are at the foundation of Jacki Hehir’s work to date. Her practice led research highlights her specific interest in socially engaged practices of art and the exploration of socio-economical relations in Ireland, most specific to the rural context. Currently working on the development of a Festival of art which she initiated in the town where she grew up;

the Hospital Shop Window Festival, Hehir focuses on building relationships and practical communication with people from local communities, voluntary groups, educational institutes, city & county authorities, N.G.O.’s, State Departments and other artistic and creative endeavours.
